Be bold, be beautiful!

Ever since Beth Robinson moved out of a city office and into a home-based business, she’s ditched the smart suits and heels in favour of comfy jeans and slippers. Beth certainly doesn’t miss the daily fashion show that was her old workplace, but she says, working from home doesn’t mean you have to let yourself go entirely.
Beth on Beauty
Here at Return to Glory we have the resources at our fingertips to look good at all times (although you wouldn’t always know it to look as us!), so I thought I’d take advantage of that to pass on some valuable advice on looking after yourself in the home office.
Dress for success
It is so tempting to slip out of bed at 8.55am and sit at your desk in your PJs, but just making that little bit of effort makes a huge difference to your attitude. If you look good, you feel good about yourself and this makes you a more confident person, even if you are only doing business on the phone. I’m not saying sit on your sofa in a full suit and jacket, but just make the effort to look presentable and you’ll be ready to face the day.
Hands on work
I was always a no-fuss, short nails kind of girl until I discovered the beauty of the French manicure! If it’s done right, it looks natural and professional. I have mine done weekly (a perk of Return to Glory!) but there are some great home-kits in the shops so you can keep it up yourself.
Make it up
There will be times when you have to venture out of your home office cocoon and into the outside world. The thought of the trip to our fashion and beauty PR agency always fills me with a sense of dread (it’s full with size zero stunners with perfect hair and even more perfect clothes!). I always make sure I have my face on for these meeting as I know this makes me feel better. Minimal and understated is the way forward.
Beth Robinson is Marketing Manager for online-booking health and beauty directory Return to Glory. The company is run from the home of Founder Natasha Dwyer, so Beth is very familiar with the home office environment. Before joining Return to Glory, she worked in PR and sponsorship for the motorcycle industry.
