Jackie, with your home business, Life in Balance, you help people lose weight healthily around their busy lifestyle. How has your new BlackBerry helped your busy lifestyle as a home business owner?

I have found the BlackBerry invaluable; the email facility means I can provide the extra support my clients need. I can now offer an even more personal approach to an already tailored Weight Loss programme. My clients do not need to weight hours to be in touch with me.

You've garnered national press attention for yourself and your business, appearing in publications such as The Mail on Sunday, Woman's Own and The Daily Mirror. How does your new BlackBerry help you manage press enquiries via phone and e-mail?

Recently I have been working with BEST and SHE magazine, the press work to strict deadlines which meant I was also working to those deadlines, as you can imagine they needed extra bits of information about Life In Balance as the feature progresses. I was able to respond to all calls from the senior features writer and provide her with any information needed, regardless of my location. The Blackberry meant that the BEST magazine feature went ahead as scheduled which was last week.

And how has your new BlackBerry made a difference to your business, your lifestyle and the way in which you use technology in both?

I value and the importance of maintaining a work/life balance and feel that the BlackBerry has added an extra facet to my lifestyle. It has allowed me to work with more freedom and be on top of my business. When I am out, I can address items which require an immediate response; leaving me to prioritise my work load. It is a tool that has tremendous flexibility that any small business owner will find useful.
