Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some tips/advice on writing a newsletter. It's for my dad's painting and decorating business www.davegreendecorating.co.uk

I'm looking at doing one quarterly but not sure where to start or what sort of things that I should include?

Thanks in advance.

The first place to start would be something that people are going to be interested in.
Maybe offer some hints and tips about solving decorating related problems. Perhaps tips on how to do some jobs that wouldn't really be worth the effort for the company to do.
Have the layout eyecatching and professional looking, not as though a schoolkid has been let loose with his crayons! Those sort of newsletters/flyers usually end up straight in the bin in my house.
If you need any help with the artwork please PM me and I can put you in contact with someone who might be able to help

Hi Jess,
That is something that I could help you with if you decided that you wanted some professional input into this.

You need to know why your dad wants to have a newsletter. Is he offering his customers special offers and information on new products? Is he hoping to gain more customers or does he want to keep himself in the forefront of his current customers' minds. Will it be distributed on email (there are lots of examples on the web) or on paper or both? Does he want just text or text and pictures?

Answering these questions will help to get it clear in his mind what he requires. Finding information these days is quite easy. Setting it out to look professional will help.

Things you could include might be recommendations and happy customers, new products, articles on aspects of decorating, useful decorating tools, decorating tips and seasonal decorating articles.

Hope this helps,
Sarah.
