The Enterprise Nation Go Global campaign helps start-ups and small businesses discover, explore and enter new markets outside of the UK.

The campaign launched in 2014 with the first trade mission to New York, followed in 2015 with a trip to Shanghai. In 2016 we ran a programme of five missions to destinations across the globe throughout the year! You can hear about the business success from our attendees here.

We have launched our full schedule for Go Global trade missions in 2017. This year we’ll be visiting Paris, Beijing, West Coast of USA, Singapore and Dubai. You can already reserve your place for Go Global Paris 2017 here or register your interest for any of the missions here.

Go Global Paris 

27 - 28 March 2017

The two day, one-night mission from 27-28 March is open to just 25 food and drink brands. The programme includes visits to Sodexo, M.A.D.E. Paris food and drink show, expert information from HSBC, SDL Managed Translation and KPMG, a guided tour with a market expert around Paris’ supermarkets, organic stores, premium food establishments, an evening reception with the British Ambassador and much more. On the mission you’ll meet buyers, bloggers and fellow food & drink entrepreneurs.

Go Global Beijing 

TBC 2017

A market where 45,000 babies are born every day, 10 million weddings take place every year and 100 million shoppers come out on one day to shop on 'Singles' Day'! That's a lot of gifts, fashion, food, baby clothes and 'I'm single' presents to be bought and a bucket lot of opportunity! We’ll be heading out to the Chinese capital to understand the Chinese consumer, meet trade partners and discover how to make the most of the e-commerce opportunity to sell into China.

June/July 2016

A mission designed to provide you with the tools to grow your business through inspiration and innovation. On the trip, you will meet with some incredible entrepreneurs, innovators and inspirers. This mission, taking place in July 2017, will inspire and encourage, allowing you the time to take stock of where you are, hear from some incredible entrepreneurs and pick up tips on how to grow your business in a region that is one of the most entrepreneurial in the world.

Go Global Singapore 

September 2017

Ranked by the World Bank as the easiest place in the world to start, run and do business, Singapore is the UK's largest trading partner in South East Asia. We'll be heading to Singapore in September 2017 with a focus on digital, tech and creative businesses. On the mission you’ll meet with UK and Global agencies who have set up in the region, market experts, potential customers in the region, the local Department for International Trade and much more to give you the tools, tips and contacts to start doing business there.

Go Global Dubai 

November 2017

The UAE is one of our fastest-growing export partners to the UK. Between 2013 and 2015, it was the fifth-fastest growing destination for UK goods, with exports up 16%. The mission to Dubai in November 2017 will focus on the luxury market, be that food and drink, fashion, jewellery or homewares. You'll discover how to do business in the UAE, meet buyers, distributors, agents and retailers, make sales and connections as part of a pop-up showcase and form collaborations with partners and fellow mission go-ers.

Go Global Amsterdam 

22 - 23 September 2016

A mission focused on home and living and homeware sectors. Delegates met with buyers, export experts and fellow homeware entrepreneurs on a mission that was created to ensure missionaries discovered how to do business in the Netherlands, make sales and connections as part of a pop-up showcase, meet buyers and retailers and form collaborations with Dutch partners and fellow mission go-ers. Anna Rigby, head buyer of homeware and accessories for John Lewis, also joined the mission as a guest missionary.

3 - 5 October 2016

A mission to New York that particularly appealed to retail businesses. On the trip mission go-er's met with retail experts, buyers and bloggers as well as enjoy talks from Etsy, Escape the City, Blippar and more! The mission was created to ensure attendees discovered how to do business in the US, meet buyers and retailers, make sales and connections as part of a pop-up showcase, form collaborations with American partners and fellow mission go-ers and hear about the latest innovations in retail tech from the inventors themselves!

Go Global Hong Kong & China

November 2016

A mission for businesses looking sell to consumers in China and businesses wanting to source production in China. The trip had a jam packed programme during which delegates toured Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. They received practical advice on export, social media and doing business in China, met with buyers and manufacturers, distributors and agents, made key trade connections, enjoyed cultural excursions and were part of a pop-up showcase of UK businesses.

Go Global Berlin 

19 - 21 May 2016

A fashion focused mission, delegates were welcomed by investment agency Berlin Partner who offered a market briefing and opportunities for the businesses to get a first foothold in the market, followed by workshops with KPMG on how to do business in Germany, UPS on German consumer trends and PayPal on tools available to help businesses internationalise their online platforms. The mission met with e-commerce platforms DaWanda and Sugartrends and heard from Berlin Fashion week organisers on how to take part in the biggest fashion exhibitions in Germany. On the final day, the entrepreneurs took part in the first Go Global pop-up store.

Go Global Dublin 

10 - 11 March 2016

This food focused mission was welcomed to Dublin by the British ambassador to Ireland, Dominick Chilcott, who hosted a Go Global evening reception at the British embassy, where mission go-ers met with agents, distributors and retailers. Earlier in the day the entrepreneurs attended a workshop with KPMG experts who offered a market briefing and advice on tax and trade in Ireland. The delegation then visited the European HQs of major social networking platforms Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to hear how each can help businesses go global. The mission was also joined by John Stapleton, founder of The New Covent Garden Soup Co, and Lulu O’Sullivan, founder of giftsdirect.com, who shared their entrepreneurial journeys.

Go Global Shanghai

14 - 18 October 2015

The Go Global mission to Shanghai was supported by PayPal, HP, HSBC and UKTI. 40 British small business business were joined by the then trade and investment minister Lord Francis Maude to travel to Shanghai. They met key contacts to support their success in the world's second largest market. The mission go-ers met with agencies and organisations who help UK businesses transition into the Chinese market and heard from PayPal on the key consumer trends and shopping days for Chinese consumers. They also met European entrepreneurs who have set up in the region following their first export experiences and enjoyed exclusive access to the consul general's residence for afternoon tea.

The Go Global Mission to New York was supported by London Gatwick Airport, Norwegian Air, UPS, HP, eBay, PayPal & UKTI. 65 British small businesses met with inspirational entrepreneurs, networked with on the ground professionals to help them export to the US and made key trade contacts.
