Strategy and planning

  • Identify your target audience, goals, and competitors to create a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that includes SEO as an integral part.

  • Use keyword research tools like Ubersuggest, Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs and Moz to identify main categories and long-tail keywords with their traffic volumes and competitiveness.

  • Organise website structure using a sitemap and URLs that include main keywords, separate words with hyphens and are concise while still making sense.

On-page optimisation

  • Create metadata for each page, including a 50 to 60 character page title with main keywords and brand name, a 55 to 100 character meta description and an H1 heading with the main keyword.

  • Make sure website content is clear, engaging and relevant to both customers and Google. Avoid duplicate, boring or low-quality content, as it can have a negative impact on SEO.

  • Use 301 redirects and update site maps when changing website URLs to avoid 404 errors and maintain link authority.

Content and keyword strategy

  • Use long-tail keywords for specific content like blog posts and landing pages to attract targeted search traffic as your website grows.

  • Optimise images with alt tags for visually impaired users and to help Google rank the images for specific searches.

Technical SEO

  • Fix crawl errors and broken links by making sure all links lead to valid pages, removing or redirecting 404s to the correct pages.

  • Improve page performance by optimising image load speed, using mobile-friendly design and reducing loading time to avoid bounce rates and Google penalties.

Off-page SEO and advanced tactics

  • Build authority through link building to relevant high-quality websites by producing superior content and reaching out to influencers and publications for backlinks.

  • Implement schema markup and optimise for featured snippets to improve your visibility in search results. If you need help doing this properly, use a web developer.
