Knowledge is power. Nowhere is this truer than in the world of business. In today's competitive business landscape, your ability to interpret and act on your numbers can mean the difference between stagnation and prosperity.

In this Lunch and Learn, Sally Marshall dives into how understanding your numbers can propel your profits to new heights. She also shares how mastering business metrics can enable you to make strategic decisions with assurance.

Sally worked in the House of Commons for over 25 years, her last role before early retirement, being a business manager in the Department for Information Services. This involved working on business plans, annual reviews, managing a budget of £22 million and designing and managing a balanced scorecard for the board of directors.

As well as working with owners, Sally has a second business, Reverse The Tide. It is designed to support and promote others while raising awareness of the environmental issues that affect us all.

Key takeaways from this session:

  • Gain an understanding of what strategies are driving success in your business

  • Identify the precise sources of your most valuable clients and learn how to attract more of them

  • Easily pinpoint areas that require immediate attention to keep your profits on the rise

My experience is in strategy, planning and performance from working in the House of Commons. I now use that knowledge to work with businesses to help them grow. I'm the author of a book on the Balanced Scorecard - what it is, why you need it, how you do it and how you use it. This is something that I did in the Department for Information Services in the House. My own business journey has taken me into the world of publishing where I now produce a business magazine aimed at start ups and SMEs
