Millions of pounds in business funding up for grabs through Innovate UK's Launchpad programme

Innovative businesses from certain sectors in eight areas of the UK can apply for grants via the latest round of funding from Innovate UK's Launchpad scheme.

First launched as a pilot by the previous Conservative government in 2022, there are now 11 Launchpads that receive research and development (R&D) grant funding with the aim of boosting local employment, economic growth and productivity.

Depending on the specific criteria for the schemes, individual small and medium sized businesses and consortia of businesses can bid for a share of the grants.

Several new rounds of funding have recently opened for applications. They are as follows:

  • Net zero industry in South West Wales: Grants of £25,000 - £100,000. Applications close on 11 December. More details.

  • Investor partnerships in digital technologies in North East: Applications close on 11 December. More details.

  • Investor partnerships in health technologies in West Yorkshire: Applications close on 11 December. More details.

  • Bio-based manufacturing in Scotland: Two strands are available with grants of between £25,000 and £100,000 and between £150,000 and £1m. Applications close on 11 December. More details for strand one here and strand two here.

  • Life and health sciences in Northern Ireland: Two strands with grants of between £25,000 and £100,000 and between £150,000 and £1m. Applications close on 11 December. More details for strand one here and strand two here.

  • Immersive and creative industries for Coventry and Warwickshire: Two strands with grants of between £25,000 and £100,000 and between £150,000 and £1m. Applications close on 11 December. More details for strand one here and strand two here.

  • Agri-tech and food technology in Eastern England: Two strands with grants of between £25,000 and £100,000 and between £150,000 and £1m. Applications close on 16 November. More details for strand one here and strand two here.

  • Agri-tech and food technology in Mid and North Wales: Grants of £25,000 - £100,000. Applications close on 11 December. More details.

There is an online event sharing information about the grants at 1pm on 14 November.
