Black Business Fund FAQs

To be eligible for the competition, your food business must:

be Black-owned
have been trading for at least 12 months
have fewer than five locations

It should take less than five minutes to complete the application form.

If your initial application is successful, there will be a second stage where we'll invite you to submit a video entry for your business.

You can spend the grant on professional services and/or equipment that will help your business grow.

Yes. You can benefit from the following:

Free membership to Enterprise Nation so you can continue to access support for your business.
Access to an exclusive e-learning course to help you navigate the cost of living crisis, build a more sustainable venture and, ultimately, grow.
The course covers everything from making sales and accessing finance to creating a brand and building a motivated team.

We're aiming to notify shortlisted businesses in December 2024. We'll then ask shortlisted businesses to submit a short video that talks about their business journey and why they should receive grant money from the fund.

Absolutely! It doesn't matter if you've applied previously to the Black Business Fund, you can apply again in 2024. However, previous winners cannot win again this year.
