Visual artist and solo business owner based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Founder of Beanie Bun, a plant based and globally-inspired burger concept that centres whole food ingredients including veggies, legumes, mushrooms and beans.
Drawing inspiration from Nicolas Bourriaud’s relational aesthetics theory and artist such as Rirkrit Tiravanija, Beanie Bun is an extension of a theme l explored towards the end of my studies, which confronted our cultural differences as well as our inextricable connectedness as a multicultural and globalised society.
Food is everyman’s common tongue; an unequivocal and essential tool that fuels our existence. Due to the transience of street food, I relish the opportunity l get to connect and engage with people from all manner of life through a medium that gives life and nourishment.
Awardee of NMTF’s regional Young Trader’s Market in the Food and Drink category and the Cedric Morris Travel Grant.
