My name is Chandila Fernando. I started my first small business in 1996 knowing very little other than that I could sell products, generate a healthy margin, and pay bills.&nbsp;

After hiring a few people, my late father encouraged me to pursue a University Education. Exiting the business having sold the contracts and inventory was an exceptional real-life lesson.

At university, I studied Politics and Social Policy that furthered my passion for evaluating socio-economic policies that could deliver job security &amp; help alleviate global poverty.

Since then, I have been extremely fortunate to connect and work with inspirational and at times, highly demanding business builders and topflight politicians from diverse communities and geographies.

It is why I passionately believe; if considered worthy and eligible to be hands-on and in an owner mindset, mentoring is unrivalled and my way of giving back purposefully.

Fast forward, my current day job is as Director for Investor Relations at the Investment Committee. This involves being pro-active and de-risking opportunities on behalf of the ‘money in the room’ while sharpening the ‘ask’ by companies and founders using a six-step engagement methodology.

I hope that I might be given the chance to expand on what I have written here and will be very happy to answer any questions.
