Myself and my husband Andy started We Are Bert Ltd in February 2023. We have never had our own business before and neither of us has any idea about marketing. We are creatives rather than sales people and are what we would call 'Olderpreneurs'! Andy is ex military and a helicopter engineer, I worked in the public sector for 16 years.
Andy started making robot sculptures as a way of improving his mental health. I named them The Berts and have started to write children's stories about them. My first book is due to be published within the next couple of weeks. I am retired and work full time on the business whilst Andy is still in full time employment.
We have a website where we sell the robot sculptures and limited edition prints. We also have a Shopify store where we sell T shirts with images of The Berts on them, Bert prints and a line of merchandise mugs, prints, t shirts that are linked To the book. Weebert has an Adventure.
The ethos of the company and of the Berts is to Accept &amp; Respect Difference.
