Nine tools to build out your AI marketing team

Nine tools to build out your AI marketing team

Posted: Mon 7th Oct 2024

In today's digital age, leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI) can be a game-changer for your business.

As a business adviser who supports small and micro businesses, I understand the challenges you face in streamlining and simplifying your marketing efforts. To aid this process, here are nine AI-driven tools that will help you build your very own AI marketing team.

I've tried and tested several competitors of each as I wanted to find tools that were ideal for people who aren't necessarily tech-savvy. These tools will allow you to harness the power of AI on a low budget but with high value.

Let's dive in and discover how these tools can revolutionise your marketing approach.

Power of customer segmentation

If you're talking to everyone, you're talking to no-one.

Communicating with customers online requires a distinct approach compared to face-to-face interactions. The better you educate the digital platform about your target audience, the more effortless it becomes for the algorithm to reach them.

Knowing your customers' preferences and desires lets you develop tailored promotions or items that meet their needs. Using customer segmentation tactics will help your business achieve lasting success in this challenging market.

1. ChatGPT

ChatGPT is a popular AI tool for marketing but it has many competitors, like Google's Bard. However, there are thousands of extensions available that can help streamline your marketing strategy. With proper prompting, ChatGPT can even manage your entire marketing department.

One of the most useful extensions is AIPRM, a prompt marketplace that includes a built-in audience segmentation prompt. The best feature of AIPRM is the ability to create your own prompts, which can save you time in the future.

These prompts can help you interact with your audience and gather valuable insights about their preferences, interests and pain points. You can then use those insights to inform your segmentation strategy, allowing you to target specific customer groups with personalised messages and offers.

There are also other marketing-specific competitors to ChatGPT, such as copy.ai and Jasper, which offer a range of payment plans and are specifically designed for content creators and marketers.

2. Google Analytics

I hesitate to add Google Analytics as it isn't technically an AI. However, it's possible to leverage Google's machine learning capabilities and the alternatives can be quite expensive.

GA4 provides valuable data to make assumptions about customers. By integrating GA4 with Google Ads, Google Trends and Google Optimize, you can enhance your marketing strategies with AI-driven insights and optimisation at a low cost.

As GA4 is quite technical, you may need support with setting it up. However, it can give you very valuable insights into how your website and apps are performing.

With GA4, you can analyse user behaviour, track conversions, and gain a deeper understanding of how your content resonates with different customer segments. This data-driven approach will help you optimise your content strategy, create targeted campaigns, and improve customer engagement.

3. Crystal Knows

To build out your customer segmentation fully, let me introduce you to Crystal Knows. This is an AI-powered platform that provides personality profiling to enhance customer segmentation in your marketing strategy.

Crystal Knows is a valuable member of your team as it gives you insights about your customers and prospects. By understanding their communication styles, preferences and motivations, you can tailor your marketing messages to resonate with each individual.

Crystal Knows empowers you to build stronger connections, enhance customer relationships, and deliver personalised experiences.

Creating and optimising content

According to SEMrush, 97% of the businesses surveyed said they have generated positive results from content marketing — that's a pretty stunning number, up from 91% last year.

Some of the common problems small business owners face when creating content are:

  • a lack of resources

  • trying to stay on top of marketing trends

  • limited availability of content

The creator economy is worth a whopping $104.2 billion to date. It's widely acknowledged that content marketing can drive results that ultimately boost a business's sales and revenue.

Engaging and high-quality content is essential to capture your audience's attention and drive conversions. AI-driven teammates can streamline your content creation process, optimise its quality, and expand your reach.

Already, we're beginning to see more AI-generated undertones in certain content. So while AI is a powerful team player for creating content, it's important to treat it as the intern who needs edits to their work.

4. Canva

Canva is a user-friendly graphic designer team player that's become a favourite among business owners in recent years. With an academy that allows you to deep dive into its many functions, Canva is my go-to for creating visually stunning content without the need for extensive design skills.

With its AI-powered features, you can easily design eye-catching social media posts, infographics and marketing materials. Canva's vast library of templates and intuitive interface let you create professional visuals that resonate with your target audience.

Again, there are a lot of competitors, such as Adobe Express and Midjourney that you may prefer to play around with. However, in my view, Canva gets top marks due to its end-to-end experience.

5. Surfer SEO

While our shopfront may live in social media, our websites are where the magic happens. As such, search engine optimisation (SEO) is vital to help gain visibility on our products and services.

With Surfer SEO, you can get insights weekly on high-ranking keywords, research niche topics, discover relevant links, and generate authentic content ideas for your audience.

Surfer SEO can help you create content that resonates with your audience and optimise your content for greater visibility and awareness.

It has a free version and a paid subscription with more features. In terms of affordability and usability, it’s my go-to for SEO.

6. Later.com

As a busy mom to three kids and with the summer holidays well underway, I'm a big fan of scheduling my social media.

Later.com allows you to schedule a multitude of different formats. While it won't engage with your audience directly, it can help you with engagement metrics, and content performance across all major platforms, and suggest the best times for you to post.

By understanding your audience's behaviour and preferences, you can segment your customers effectively and deliver targeted messages through social media channels.

7. Grammarly

Grammarly is an AI-powered writing assistant that makes sure your content is free of grammatical errors and maintains a high level of quality.

It not only improves your content's readability and professionalism but also suggests enhancements to make it more engaging and impactful. Grammarly will be your trusty companion in crafting compelling and error-free marketing materials.

Streamlining your marketing efforts

Managing and organising your marketing activities can be overwhelming, especially when you have limited resources. AI-driven team players can help you streamline your processes, increase efficiency, and stay organised.

Let's explore the final set of tools that will make your marketing efforts seamless.

8. ClickUp AI

ClickUp is a project management tool that enables you to streamline your marketing tasks and collaborate effectively with your team. With its AI-driven features, you can automate repetitive processes, set deadlines, track progress and stay organised.

ClickUp ensures that your marketing campaigns run smoothly and efficiently, saving you time and effort. It has over 100 tools, each tailored to specific roles, with more on the way.

9. Repurpose.io

My last team player is Repurpose.io, an AI-driven platform that automates content repurposing across different channels.

A game-changer for its capacity to not only repurpose your content but to adapt it to suit the forum you're transferring it to. You can reach a wider audience and have the biggest possible impact by repurposing your existing content into various formats, such as blog posts, social media updates or videos.

Repurpose.io saves you time and effort by automating the process, allowing you to focus on engaging with your audience.

The time to invest in learning and implementing AI technologies is now. With these nine AI-driven teammates at your disposal, you have the potential to streamline your marketing efforts, improve customer segmentation, create compelling content, and optimise your strategies for success.
